Big Sur International Marathon

Pianos and pine trees on the Pacific coast

The Big Sur International Marathon is a renowned boutique-style race that has become a bucket-list event for runners across the globe. Since its inception in 1986, it has drawn approximately 4,500 participants annually and has received numerous accolades. The demanding course follows California’s iconic Highway One, beginning in Big Sur and finishing in Carmel. Along the way, runners are treated to breathtaking views of towering redwoods and the rugged Pacific coastline. Adding to the unique atmosphere, the race features live performances from Taiko drummers, Samba dancers, and even a classical pianist positioned mid-course to inspire runners with music as memorable as the scenery.

Where the sun always shines
The largest marathon in the Nordics. Its late May date means the city boasts 20 hours of daylight so huge Nordic skies combine with Stockholm's dramatic archipelago setting to create a very special running occasion. With 23,500 runners, the 2025 event has sold out for the second year in a row. Almost 30% of the participants are international runners.

Wizz Air Venicemarathon

Every runner, at least once in their life time, should experience the magic of running the Wizz Air Venicemarathon, where the fatigue of the 42K is dissolved in the face of the eternal beauty of this city that lies on water and where time seems to have stopped. Venice may conjure up images of relaxing on a gondola as you explore its canals, but experiencing the city through running is equally engrossing. The race offers one of the flattest courses in Italy and the mild October temperatures are conducive to fast times.

Grandma’s
Marathon

Now the 10th largest marathon in the USA and fresh off its largest race weekend ever in 2024, Grandma’s Marathon organizers are expecting even more participants this year after the earliest sellout on record – all of which seems to be setting up a celebration for the ages at its 50th annual race weekend in June 2026. Widely regarded as a world class event with small town charm, the race runs alongside the quiet and scenic shores of Lake Superior before entering the city limits of Duluth.
